It has begun!! My oldest niece, Emory Reese Kirkham, is officially two! She is such a darling, sweet little girl who loves to talk and read and color. She loves Dora and animals. I am so glad that she is part of the Kirkham family and want to wish her a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I can't believe it has taken me almost three months to get to this. On August 5, 2010, a beautiful little baby girl entered the world!!! Lucy Kathleen Kirkham is such a sweet little baby (from what I've heard, I haven't had the opportunity to meet her yet). She is super cute in every picture, though, and has a wonderful big sister who adores her!! WELCOME TO THE WORLD, LUCY!!!

Wanda

Wanda loved to quilt. She made three baby quilts and two "loveys" (this pink one and a blue puppy) for our future kids.

Wanda had an amazing sense of humor and love for life. She had a way of making everyone smile and her laughter was contagious. She raised two amazing boys who will keep her legacy, strength, and love alive and pass it on to their own children. She loved purple and had a fiery Norwegian spirit. On May 6, 2010 Wanda Knutson Sargent passed from this world to begin her journey in the next. The world will not be the same without her, but I know she is looking down on us and will guide us through our trying times. Wanda, we will miss you and you will be in our hearts, thoughts, and actions.

A Year Gone

Has it really been a year already? YES! Technically, now it's been almost 14 months, but, hey, we've been busy! The first year of our marriage has been a complete whirlwind.... Nothing seems to want to settle in our lives right now. Within the first year of our marriage Jeremy got a new job and started school, Jes finished school, we moved, Jes got a new job, we lost Jeremy's mom, and somehow made it through. It has been an incredible journey, though.

Even though it has been a crazy and trying year, hindsight shows that it has been a year of growth for both Jeremy and I. We have both come to know and understand each other better, and accept some of the other person's little quirks (but only some.)

So I want to say to my amazing and wonderful husband: I love you. I know this last year has been very very rough and we've had our fair share of ups and downs (although the downs sometimes seem more prevalant) but we got through all of them together. Looking back we truly have worked as a great team, and are continuing to learn how to strengthen that team. I couldn't have asked for a better husband who not only supports me, but doesn't stand down when I'm being stubborn. I love you Jeremy. Here's to another year!

The Past Few Months

The past few months have been a very crazy time in the Sargent Household.

In January Jeremy started school again at Utah State. He'll be working on his Bachelors and then Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.

In February we got to go to Colorado to visit Jeremy's parents for a weekend. I also, FINALLY, found a job in February with Icon Health and Fitness working on their apparel websites.

March kind of flew by with another trip to Colorado and Jes went to San Diego for a photo shoot for work. In April we went to Colorado again to see Jeremy's parents and be able to spend some time with his brother and niece and nephew. All the visits to Colorado were bittersweet, though. It was a lot of fun to visit with Jeremy's family and friends, but we were also there to support his dad and be with his mom during the final days of her life.

On May 6, 2010, the world lost an amazing woman, Wanda Sargent (longer post with pictures to come). On May 16, 2010 Jeremy and I celebrated our FIRST anniversary by attending Isaac's seminary graduation and Jeremy took Katie for a motorcycle ride (which she LOVED!) Did I mention that for a few days before our anniversary Jes was in New York State for work? Well, she was. Jeremy's dad came to visit us for Memorial Day weekend and he and Jeremy had a great time tinkering with bikes, installing power commanders, riding up the canyon, and going to watch the World Superbike Championships. I planted my garden!

And here we are in June and already it's been crazy. On June 8, 2010 we lost Jeremy's Grandpa (his dad's dad.) It's been a rough time, but he's getting through it. He's also going to school and continuing to work at Icon as an electrical tester. Jes has just been working like crazy. She is now helping with the Ragnar Relay Series Wasatch Back race that runs from Logan to Park City, UT. It's going to be a huge event and will hopefully go off without a hitch. At least, that's the plan since it's this Friday and Saturday. There will be more posts with pictures, but, at the moment I don't have access to them all!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. It was our "on" year so my whole family was here. It's also the last time my whole family will be together for Christmas until 2013. Isaac will be on his mission when we're together in 2012. So.. the next time we will have Christmas together, my nieces will be 5 and two months from 5. HOLY COW!!!

We really did have a lot of fun seeing Santa (neither of my nieces really liked that), eating, playing with Grandma (Ga-Ga) and Grandpa (Ba-Ba). By the end, Chloe could say Grandma and Emmi would say Grandma, Isaac, and Roo (that's me). Of course that was only when she wanted to. They have both changed so much and I hate being so far away from them. It seriously was so much fun.

All in all it was a wonderful Christmas and a great end to 2009. Hopefully 2010 is just as wonderful. I'm sure it has some surprises in store for us, but we're ready to take them on!

Grandpa loved his granddaughters. Chloe wasn't quite as snuggly as Emmi, but she was sick for a lot of time she was here. It was very sweet to see Grandpa so snuggly and soft. Although, he can't wait until the next Christmas when they're old enough to communicate better and play ball!

Halloween was a lot of fun!! We went to dinner with friends and listened to one awful band and one not-too-bad cover band. Now we're packing to move Jeremy to Logan. He got a job up there and starts tomorrow.. :( I'll see him on weekends only for the next 7 weeks while I finish school..

PS... These pictures almost make me want to put pink or red in my hair like this!! I LIKE IT!!

Senior Night and the Halloween Ride

Jeremy wore Isaac's Joker costume and went on the Halloween ride.

This week Isaac's Senior Night game. They played really hard and only lost 21-20. It was a depressing game and they deserved to win, but Isaac played AWESOME!!

Jer and I got to spend the weekend with my family. We went to Isaac's football game.. where they WON!! 31-15. It was a very good game and we got some awesome pictures of Isaac. We also got to look around for possible places to live. We'll be setting up appointments to go look at them next weekend when we're up there again!! Yes that does seem like a lot, but we only have about 9 more weeks until we'll be preparing to move so we want to get as much settled now as we can!!

From about March to October every year Miller Motosports Park and APEX puts on open track days for motorcyclists. Jeremy LOVES going and really has a great time being able to ride as fast as he wants without getting into trouble (**eye roll**). Last Saturday was the last track day this year and since we're moving it might very well be his last track day for quite a while :(

I was not planning on going up because I had a lot to do, but on Saturday I decided the rest of what I had could wait and I was gonna go watch my hubby!! So I went up for the afternoon sessions and watched. I got some awesome pictures the last session!!

NEW BEGINNINGS!!!

A couple weeks ago we got to spend the weekend in Logan with my parents and my oldest brother and his family. It was so much fun getting to be with them and spend time with my niece Chloe!!

I borrowed this picture from Rach, cuz I LOVE IT!!!

Well.. then Jeremy and I celebrated my birthday by eating at Olive Garden, yummy, and seeing Love Happns. We had a very good night and just enjoyed being together since we don't get a lot of time together anymore.

Well... THE NEXT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

We got an email that Jeremy has been accepted into the Engineering program at Utah State University!!

He starts in January which is perfect since I finish (fingers crossed) in December. I just have to pass my senior thesis class.

So right now we're looking for places to live, jobs for me (NO MORE SCHOOL FOR ME!! WOO HOO!!!) and preparing to move to Logan! I'm pretty excited and Jeremy is pretty nervous, but he'll do fine cuz he's a smarty pants. So in December we'll be making the move to HERE!!!

Except it will be COVERED in snow!!

It will be nice, though, to be close to my parents so I can be there for the last half of my little brother's senior year (LACROSSE, PLAYS, CHOIR CONCERTS, SENIOR ACTIVITIES, 18TH BIRTHDAY!!!)

So here we go for the last push to finish my school(10 more weeks!) and get Jeremy started!! YAY FOR NEW BEGINNINGS!!!

HOLY COW!! As of tomorrow it has been two months since we were married. It seems like it has already been a lifetime. We've had our ups and downs, as you can imagine, but we've made it through them all, so far.

Thinking back on the last two months I seriously can't believe it has only been two months. I could swear it has been six or more already.

Here are some of my favorite moments from the last two months:

1) The wedding day!! Duh!
2) All the hours riding the motorcycles... always with helmets of course!!
3) All the time we've spent laughing and working through our differences

AND.. my favorite things about Jeremy, so far:

1) His uncanny ability to make me laugh at any moment
2) His love for me and the fact that he'll step outside of his comfort zone to do things for me that may be difficult or overwhelming for him.
3) The way that he always considers my feelings in his decisions.

Well.. i know you all really just want to see pictures... so here are some more from the wedding. There is one that most people won't get without a description.

This is a picture of three sets of feet. These are my brothers Jake and Isaac and my dad. My brothers have this weird competition that they always have to be taller than everyone else. So.. in pictures, they stand on their toes. And the photograper caught it. OH my brothers... i love em. But I always make sure they remember that Jeremy will always be taller than them all!! HA HA HA!!

The Very First

Well. Here I go... I'm getting started in the whole blogging thing. I think I'll just start with lots of wedding pictures. Our wedding was wonderful and amazing. It was at the most PERFECT location and we were so happy. So we've started started our married life and it's going good so far. Or, as good as can be expected for the first year of marriage :) But we're getting along. Anyway... check out the pictures!!
